Hiring - Front of House

TangleWood Nature Estate, located 14 km's outside Potchefstroom, North West, is family owned, focusing on camping, self-catering accommodation, day visitors, and boat launching onto Boskop Dam. 

We also host informal functions and events with catering. 

 

We are looking for a single person to join our small team. Must be energetic and passionate about the hospitality industry.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS​

  • Driving License and own transport essential.

  • Bilingual (English and Afrikaans), with excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Good health and physical mobility, professional and well groomed.

  • Can work independently and under pressure, as part of small multicultural team.

  • Attention to detail

  • Stable work history and contactable references. 

 

ROLE REQUIREMENTS: FRONT OF HOUSE & ADMIN

  • Matric with a Degree/Diploma in Hospitality

  • Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in Front of House/Reservations in a Lodge or Camp Site (essential)

  • Excellent client and interpersonal skills and ability to deal with difficult situations.

  • Must be able to handle guest feedback and complaints effectively.

  • Strong administrative skills, including experience with reservations and reporting. 

  • Computer literate plus experience with Nightsbridge.  

  • Experience managing inventory, stock control, and financial records (SAGE Accounting).

  • No dependents living at home, non-smoker and sober habits.​​

  • Work on weekends and public holiday. 45 Hour Week with 5 days on and 2 off (during the week) 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reservations/Bookings: Manage all aspects of Front of House, including client enquiries, reservations/bookings, answering calls and emails with professionalism and courtesy, and assist with various administrative tasks.

  • Guest Relations: Ensure smooth client check-ins/outs, provide excellent service, resolve guest issues in coordination with Owners and or HOD’s

  • Stand for for Housekeeping/Function HOD from time to time.​ 

  • Stock Control: Manage inventory, stock orders, and secure storerooms.

  • Financial Records: Reconcile purchases and receipts, and maintain accurate client and financial records.

  • Staff Leadership: Lead, train, and maintain effective team relationships, promoting teamwork and ongoing staff development.

  • Social Media: Manage social media pages, schedule regular posts, respond to client enquiries, and feedback/reviews.

PACKAGE & WORKING HOURS​

  • Salary: R7-10k, Negotiable, DOE

  • Accommodation: Live-in, shared staff house (unfurnished). Staff responsible for own electricity account.

  • Staff Uniform

  • Meals: 1 staff meal per day when on duty

  • Starting Date: ASAP
