BOOKING TERMS

Penalty - 1 Night Only Stay

We charge a penalty for one night only bookings over weekends and holidays. The penalty is payable per unit and NOT per booking. Please remember to add the penalty as an extra charge when booking online. 

  • Lodge Tents and Camping Stands: R120 per Unit

  • Luxury Tent and Pods: R200 per Unit

 

Minimum Stays

  • Pods and Luxury Tent: Minimum 2 night stay required over weekends

  • All Units: Minimum 3 night stay applies during peak camping periods, long weekends and selected holidays.

  • Minimum stay requirement falls away five days before arrival date, after which clients can make one and two night bookings with a penalty via NightsBridge. 

 

Additional Charges: Per Person and Per Vehicle (Per Day)

Our standard rates include your selected unit, entrance for two persons and one vehicle only. Additional persons/vehicles are charged extra per night: 

R40   Children: 0 - 11 Years

R80   Children: 12 Years and Older

R80   Adults

R40   Each additional vehicle

 

Deposits & Booking Confirmations

  • Bookings are confirmed after your deposit is received in our bank account. Deposits must be received within 48 hours of booking. Unconfirmed bookings are automatically cancelled after 48 hours.  

  • The full outstanding balance must be paid latest at checkin. Payments can be made onsite either in cash or card.

  • EFT Payments: Clients who pay by EFT must ensure their EFT payment is made at least 72 hours before arrival to allow enough time to clear into our bank account before check in. 

 

Booking Date Changes, No Shows, Partial or Full Cancellations

  • Requests to change a confirmed booking must be made in writing to bookings@tanglewoodnatureestate.com

  • Requests to move a confirmed booking date to a later date is deemed a booking cancellation. Standard cancellation terms and penalties will apply. 

 

Penalty for Cancellation, Booking Change, No Show etc

  • Hospitalisation or death of the primary client. Full Refund. The Primary client is the person who made the booking and who's name is on the booking.

  • Cancellation > 30 days before Arrival: Refund 75% of amount paid.

  • Cancellation 15 – 29 days before Arrival: Refund 50% of amount paid. 

  • Cancellation 14 days or less before Arrival: No Refund. Total booking value is due on check in. 100% Penalty applies to No Shows, Late Arrivals, Early Departure, moving out confirmed booking dates, Partial and or Full Cancellations.

Check In & Check Out Times

  • Check In from 2PM until office close (7PM Tuesday – Thursday: 9PM on Friday & Saturday).

  • Late Check In: Arrangements must be made in advance for late check-in after gates close. Late check in will only be considered if the full outstanding payment has been received before arrival.

  • Check out 10AM. Camper’s welcome to remain as day visitors (without additional charge) once they have been checked out of their tent/stand. Units must be vacated by 10AM to allow staff access to clear and clean.

  • Late Check Out & Fee: Late checks out can only be requested & confirmed by the office on the day of checkout and is subject to availability. Late check outs until 3PM will be charged a late checkout fee of 50% (of the booking unit rate). 

 

Stands, Water & Electricity

  • Stands: Camping is only allowed in your designated stand(s). Customers select their specific stand at the time of booking. 

  • Ground Sheets: Only perforated ground sheets are allowed to avoid damage to grassed stands. 

  • Power: All stands/tents have access to one 15 Amp 220v plug point. Bring your own 15m extension cable.

    • Stands 1 – 6: Located next to jetty, have power & shared cold-water taps. Suitable for customers who are up early as jetty can get busy/noisy from 5am on weekends. These stands are often water logged during our rainy season. 

    • Stands 7 – 35: Stands & tents are located 50m – 100m away from the water. Fishing from stands is not possible. 

 

​Lost /Damaged Camping Equipment

  • Customers responsible to ensure all TangleWood camping equipment is checked back in by on-duty staff before departure.

  • Customer is liable for the replacement cost of any damaged or lost camping equipment and related fee's. 

 

Pets

  • Pets are welcome and must be kept on a leash at all times. 

  • Guests must clean up after their own pet.

  • Please ensure your pet does not pose a threat or become a nuisance, which includes constant barking.

  • Dogs are not allowed in TangleWood's Luxury Tent, buildings, on beds and furniture, in the beach volley ball court or swimming pools.

  • We reserve the right to request your pet is removed from the property if deemed necessary.

 

Music, Noise and Groups

  • We offer a low noise campsite. No music is allowed, including via car radio, cell phone or other musical instrument and on duty staff will enforce this. Our campsite is not suitable for noisy party groups.

  • Be considerate to your fellow campers and refrain from rowdy behaviour from 22h00.

  • TangleWood does not take bookings from non-family groups, including bachelor parties or any other noisy party groups unless the property has been booked out for exclusive use.

Family Groups and Accounts

  • The primary client is the person who is responsible for the booking, who's name is on the booking, and is the person who receives/accepts the booking terms. 

  • The primary client is liable for all persons included in their booking, including payment of the full account. This means that the primary client is responsible to settle 1) all cancellation penalties and 2) damages for all guests included in their booking

  • The full account balance must be settled before check in. No guests will be allowed to check-in until the account is settled. 

  • To avoid delays, we suggest accounts with more than one unit is settled in full at least 72 hours before arrival to avoid delays.  

Special Needs Facilities

  • Our facilities and pathways were not originally designed for special needs clients. Moving around our terrain can be quite challenging.

 

Smoking & Fires

  • Smoking is NOT permitted in any of our tents or buildings, including bathrooms.

  • Fires are only allowed in your designated braai and must be kept a safe distance away from tents.

  • Extinguish the fire before going to bed as we experience strong winds over the dam.

  • Refrain from throwing hot ash on our grass. 

General

  • TangleWood is privately-owned. Right of admission is reserved.

  • Speed limit of 15km on the property. Take care of children and animals. 

  • Generators are not allowed.

  • No swimming is allowed in Boskop Dam for safety reasons. 

  • Proper swimming attire is required in the pool.

  • No glass, soap, shampoo, or other detergents allowed in the pool. 

  • No pellet guns, air guns, archery, blow pipes, fireworks or quad bikes are allowed. 

  • Please use dustbins for all your garbage – including cigarette butts and bottle tops.

 

Liability & Damages

  • Persons entering the property do so entirely at their own risk. TangleWood will not accept liability or responsibility for the death of, harm or injury to any person (including a claim for loss of support), or for the loss (including pure economic loss) or destruction of or damage/s to any property or possessions from any cause whatsoever and howsoever arising.

  • TangleWood will not be liable for any failure to provide (or delay in providing), facilities or services because of events outside of our control.

  • TangleWood reserves the right to hold a guest liable for any loss or damage to property, fixtures, and fittings, including for items hired for their use and guests may also be held liable for injury to any person arising from the guest’s actions.

  • Vandalism, drunken or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated and guests will be asked to leave. Refunds are not given to evicted persons.
